Detailed Description

Generate and return a POSIX-standard (Unix-like) path from the input Windows-style path.

This procedure calls setPathPosix to generate the Windows-style normalized path.
See the documentation of setPathPosix for details of the path normalization.

Parameters
[in]path: The input scalar character of default kind SK containing the Windows-style path to be converted to the POSIX-style.
[in]ignore: The input scalar character of the same kind as path of arbitrary length type parameter.
If present, any pattern matching the value of ignore from left to right will be interpreted verbatim and copied to the output path as is.
(optional, default = "")
Returns
pathPosix : The output allocatable scalar character of default kind SK containing the input path converted to the POSIX-style.

Possible calling interfaces

character(:, SK), allocatable :: pathPosix
pathPosix = getPathPosix(path, ignore = ignore)
Generate and return a POSIX-standard (Unix-like) path from the input Windows-style path.
This module contains classes and procedures for manipulating system file/folder paths.

Warning
All warnings in the documentation of setPathPosix are also relevant and apply to this functional procedure.
Remarks
The subroutine version setPathPosix of this functional procedure is expected to be slightly faster than this function.
Warning
The pure procedure(s) documented herein become impure when the ParaMonte library is compiled with preprocessor macro CHECK_ENABLED=1.
By default, these procedures are pure in release build and impure in debug and testing builds.

Todo:
Low Priority: The performance of this algorithm could be likely improved by reimplementing the function to remove the unnecessary copy pathPosix = path.
