Function Documentation

◆ split2real()

function split2real ( in  str,
in  sep
)

Return a vector of real values by splitting the input str string by the specified input sep.

This function is primarily used for splitting a string into a double vector of real numbers.

Parameters
[in]str: The input scalar MATLAB string containing from which the numbers must be retrieved such as software version corresponding to major, minor, and patch versions.
[in]sep: The input scalar MATLAB string containing a string to be used the separator in splitting.
Returns
real : The output MATLAB vector of size nsep + 1 containing the numbers retrieved from the input version string, where nsep represents the number of input sep found in the input string.
If the specified input sep is empty [], the default value is used.
(optional, default = ".")

Possible calling interfaces

real = pm.str.split2real(str)
real = pm.str.split2real(str, [])
real = pm.str.split2real(str, sep)

Example usage

1cd(fileparts(mfilename('fullpath'))); % Change working directory to source code directory.
2addpath('../../../'); % Add the ParaMonte library root directory to the search path.
3
4pm.matlab.show()
5pm.matlab.show('pm.str.split2real("3.1.2")')
6pm.matlab.show( pm.str.split2real("3.1.2") )
7assert(all(pm.str.split2real("3.1.2") == [3, 1, 2]))
8
9pm.matlab.show()
10pm.matlab.show('pm.str.split2real("3-1-2.5", "-")')
11pm.matlab.show( pm.str.split2real("3-1-2.5", "-") )
12assert(all(pm.str.split2real("3-1-2.5", "-") == [3, 1, 2.5]))
function root()
Return a scalar MATLAB string containing the root directory of the ParaMonte library package.
function show(in obj, in name, in hidden)
Display the components of an input MATLAB variable on MATLAB Console recursively.
function split2real(in str, in sep)
Return a vector of real values by splitting the input str string by the specified input sep.

Example output
1
2pm.str.split2real("3.1.2")
3 3 1 2
4
5pm.str.split2real("3-1-2.5", "-")
6 3.000000000000000 1.000000000000000 2.500000000000000
